The Grand Premiere of Bharat Bhagya Vidhata With Param Krupalu Dev’s grace and Pujya Gurudevshri’s inspiration, after the resounding success of the play ‘Yugpurush – Mahatma na Mahatma’; Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur in association with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the Government of Gujarat, offers a heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation – Mahatma Gandhi, through a play – ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’ to commemorate his 150th birth anniversary. Launched in November, 2016, Yugpurush was a heart-touching portrayal of the special bond between Param Krupalu Dev and Gandhiji that catapulted him from ‘Mohandas’ to ‘Mahatma’. It was performed in 7 languages by 8 teams and completed 1062 shows in just one year reaching 6,80,000 people in 312 cities across the world. The play not only created history in the world of theatre, but also left an indelible mark of respect for Param Krupalu Dev and Gandhiji in the hearts of audiences. Having witnessed the record-breaking achievement of Yugpurush and the planning capabilities, creativity, passion, commitment of the Mission; it was approached to launch a world class play that would highlight Mahatma Gandhi’s exemplary virtues. It is indeed a matter of honour that Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur has been chosen to be a part of the State Level Committee (Gujarat State) to assist in the 150th year celebrations. The committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, consists of Ministers, Senior Government officials among others. Pujya Gurudevshri has been invited by the Government of Gujarat as a distinguished Saint member on this committee. The Mission has also been presented with the opportunity to be in association with Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi and Ministry of Culture at the Central Government level for this purpose. Research by Sharnarpit Dr Tina Mehta; written by Shri Prakash Kapadia; directed by Shri Rajesh Joshi and with Shri Dharmesh Mehta as the Narrator; Bharat Bhagya Vidhata weaves together the inner and outer journey of the Mahatma in a riveting portrayal. The Mahatma’s life, from childhood to old age, is brought alive on the stage in a very unique manner. The Gujarati premiere of Bharat Bhagya Vidhata was held at the Tagore Hall in Ahmedabad. Despite the recent bypass surgery, Pujya Gurudevshri arrived in the city to lovingly grace the show. Pujya Gurudevshri accompanied by Honourable Governor of Gujarat, Shri O. P. Kohli; Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani; Minister of State, Gujarat, Smt. Vibhavariben Dave and Secretary of Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Gujarat, Shri R. C. Meena lit the ceremonial lamp. Honourable Governor of Gujarat, Shri O. P. Kohli and Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani addressed the packed audience. Several dignitaries from the Government and other organisations were in attendance. The Hindi premiere of Bharat Bhagya Vidhata was performed at Pune to an exciting response. Dignitaries present on the occasion included Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Shri S C Barmma; Representative of Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, New Delhi, Shri Sanjoy Singh and Managing Trustee of Shri Firodia Trust, Smt. Shribalaji Firodia Choradia. Bharat Bhagya Vidhata will be staged in Hindi at National level in various cities across India including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Nagpur, Raipur, Bhopal, Guwahati by the Mission in association with Sangeet Natak Akademi and Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The play will be staged in Gujarati in association with the Government of Gujarat. With around 150 shows planned in Gujarat, the play will travel to cities like Ahmedabad, Anand, Jamnagar, Jetpur, Junagadh, Morbi, Porbandar, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Valsad. Abounding with inspiration the play Bharat Bhagya Vidhata is sure to encourage people to imbibe and follow the morals of Mahatma Gandhi.
