Living the Jain way
9 to 12 years
Structure:
4 levels across 4 years
2-hour, weekly classes
Arhat Touch is a modern Jain pathshala and personal-development programme. We strive to make the immortal wisdom of Bhagwan Mahavir accessible to the children of today.
The use of audio-visual technology, interactive games, and compelling creatives in the classroom makes learning an enjoyable experience. The children also take field trips to boost their learning.
Curriculum:
Our distinctive curriculum enables children to understand Jainism in a scientific, practical and enjoyable manner. They grow to transcend the myopic view of religion comprising mechanical rituals and to appreciate it as a compassionate and festive way of life.
Each level covers four aspects:
- Philosophy
- Understand Jain philosophy through logical thinking and reasoning instead of blind faith and learn how to implement it practically
- Topics covered include Karma theory, Jiva vichar, Nav tattva, and more
-
Mythology
- Draw inspiration from the hallowed lives of Tirthankar Bhagwans, sadhus, sadhvis, shravaks, and shravikas
-
Rituals
- Gain insight into the underlying meanings behind rituals like Ashtaprakari puja, Chaityavandan, and Tirthyatra, and more, through detailed and rational explanations
- Learn to perform these rituals correctly and with reverence
- Internalise and not only memorise sutras, stutis, and other key compositions, through music and dance
-
Self-Development
- Cultivate skills like leadership and teamwork that are key to long-term success
- Learn how to build confidence and how to meditate
An alternative curriculum has been designed for those who wish to enrol for personal development, in a secular context.
