Seekers eagerly gathered at Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram Dharmpur on the evening of Friday, 5th October 2018 for yet another nutritious serving of spirituality in the form of an enriching shibir on the sacred text Shri Adhyatmakalpadrum.Through three enlightening pravachans spread over the weekend, Pujya Gurudevshri encouraged aspirants to introspect recognising their weaknesses and strengths. Stressing the inevitability of death the beloved Sadguru inspired all to work unceasingly towards their goal of Self-realisation. Through poignant examples the compassionate Master also explained that only by cultivating dispassion towards worldly temptations can one progress on the spiritual path. On Saturday evening, a special celebration was held to commemorate the Gujarati calendar birthday of Mahatma Gandhiji. The Mahatma was an ardent believer in cleanliness. Emphasising its grave importance, Atmarpit Maulikji took the stage to introduce the gathering to the measures undertaken by the Ashram to keep it clean. He outlined the initiatives of waste management through soil bio-technology; water conservation through installation of aerators in taps; rain water harvesting and electricity generation through solar energy. The Mission’s Bhakti team mesmerised the audience with a touching rendition of bhajans from Gandhiji’s Sabarmati Ashram’s Bhajanavali. Soulful compositions from lofty beings such as Param Krupalu Dev Shrimad Rajchandraji, Sant Kabir, Sant Surdas etc. in various languages such as Gujarati, Hindi, Bengali and English delved all in deep in devotion. Portraying the profound influence that Shrimad Rajchandraji had on Gandhiji, highlights from the English version of ‘Yugpurush – the play’ were screened. The noble virtues of non-violence, truth and detachment observed in the Mahatma’s hallowed life were a result of him revering Shrimad Rajchandraji. A devotional arti completed the beautiful day. Thus concluded the ninth shibir of the year. In high spirits and with renewed resolutions devotees left the Ashram. Pujya Gurudevshri’s unconditional love, joyous countenance and calming serenity invites seekers to bloom in His gracious presence.
